The Best of Great Ocean Road On A Google Map

A few years ago I made this map of my favourite places along the Great Ocean Road for my friends. I’m sharing it now so that it is easy to find. It shows :

  • where native animals can be pretty reliably sighted,
  • some of the best beaches, waterfalls and forests,
  • recommended places to stay overnight,
  • places to eat,
  • points of interest.

Click on the icons for more info about each place. If you have any suggestions for additions please put them in a comment below.

    Robert!
So great! I grew up in Fairhaven/Aireys Inlet so am very fond of the GOR. A couple of places I love walking/camping/swimming are Cumberland River, just past Lorne. There you can walk up to Jebb’s pool, there’s a natural waterslide into the pool.
In Aireys the best beach is Sunnymeade, down hundreds of steps to a secluded bay and rockpools.
Also you are almost always guaranteed to see Kangaroos on the Anglesea Golf Course, lounging around usually.
Can’t wait to go back down there this summer
    Xxx
