Sacrifice: Contemplating Time and Trust, November 2022

Science Gallery Melbourne, Centre for Contemplative Studies, Centre for AI and Digital Ethics. An intimate ceremony performed with an autonomous swarm of stone-robots.Part performance, part experiment, Sacrifice is the product of a radical collaboration between theatre, robotics, and archaeology specialists that invites you to interact with ancient and emerging technologies of contemplation combining emerging swarm robotics and artificial intelligence technologies with globally significant ancient standing stones.

Performance commissioned by City of Chicago for ‘Goat Island: We Discovered A Performance By Making It’ and Chicago Year of Theatre. 4 Performers. Premiere 19 April 2019 Sydney Yeats Gallery, Chicago Cultural Center. A creative response to Goat Island’s 1991 performance ‘Can’t Take Johnny To The Funeral’. Created in part through the Jackman Goldwasser Residency at Hyde Park Arts Center, Chicago.

Public Artwork of Scale in development: Speculative authorship of a radical future created through the contributions of 14,400 citizens of Melbourne. 3D video, Artificial Intelligence, Mixed Reality, Blockchain, Performance, Futures, Participation. Created with Arts Centre Melbourne and University of Melbourne with feasibility funding from City of Melbourne and Creative Victoria.

Transmedia mixed-reality performance for smartphones, apps, and legacy telecommunication infrastructure. Melbourne General Cemetery and Google Play & App Store worldwide. Co-written and performed with Jason Maling.

25 minute film, shown on iPads as a ‘one-to-one’ tour around the archetypal Victorian school building. 13 actors, 8 musicians. Charles Rennie Mackintosh’s Scotland Street School Museum. Commissioned by IETM, Glasgow, UK, November 2010. Now held within museum collection.
